Good Luck Cammy
On Wednesday we said a collective Goodbye and Good Luck to Cammy Redden who leaves the Greenkeeping staff this week to move to a club in Uttoxeter. We persuaded him to come in from his working day on the course. The ladies have seen him grow up in and around Strathmore GC. With his mum Lesley in our midst, we have been used to periodic updates on his progress, his work progress and experience, any course changes, his well-earned awards and opportunities and of course his own golf!
We asked him to join us on Wednesday after our usual golf so we could collectively wish him well and thank him for all his work on our much-loved golf course. We presented him with a card and a voucher as a leaving gift. He starts at the JCB Golf and Country Club, near Uttoxeter on Monday 31st March 2025 as part of a 40 ish-strong team of Greenkeeping staff.
All the best Cammy, we'll all miss you!
Captains' Drive-In 2025 - Results and Prize-winners
This year the Captains - Gavin Greig and Judy Goodfellow took on their Vice-Captains - Diane McLuskey and Craig Muir
(ably supported by their teams through the rest of the field).
As we gathered on the 1st Tee, we were sponsored to a drink of prosecco from Aitken's Wines, Dundee to celebrate the start of our 30th Anniversary season. Thank you very much to Patrick Rohde who many of you will know at the club.
In today's present company, there were 3 members who have been in the club since the beginning of the club in 1995 - Jack Scott, Iain and Dawn Butchart, who were photographed with the President and the Captains.
92 cards were returned with a number of spot prizes won for Nearest the Pin; Nearest the Pin in 2; Longest Drives and of course the placing of the charity flags to guess where the Captains' drives will finish up.
The charity flag placements were won by Conan Reid and Julie Izzard who received a voucher each and the Easter eggs were awarded for the spot prize winners.
Enjoy the 30th Anniversary season ahead and thank you to all who turned out to support and to play.
