PERTH AND KINROSS TAKE NORTH OF SCOTLAND TITLE
Perth and Kinross County Team took part in the intercounty championships at Crieff at the weekend. Two Strathmore ladies were involved in the event, Dawn Butchart as Vice Captain and team member Alexandra Bushby. Perth & Kinross Team played exceptional golf and took the title for the first time in 24 years. They played Aberdeenshire, Angus and Northern Counties over Saturday, Sunday & Monday at Crieff Golf Club. This is a massive achievement for all concerned and one which will certainly stay with me for a very long time!
Alexandra not only played brilliantly for us, winning all of her 6 matches but was named as the player of the tournament! Fantastic for Alex as this is her first year playing for P&K.
P&K now go onto the Scottish Finals which takes place in September at The Hirsell Golf Club.
The team as per photo was (back row left to right) Jane Yellowlees (Murrayshall) , Fiona Ramsay (Crieff), Alexandra Bushby (Strathmore), Emma Napper (Craigie Hill), Emily Ogilvy (Auchterarder), Jillian Milne (Craigie Hill). (front row left to right) Roseanne Niven (Crieff), Vice Captain Dawn Butchart, Captain Janet Griffiths and Sally Kettlewell (Dunblane).
Results were:
Angus Saturday 7 - 2
Northern Counties Sunday 5 1/2 - 3 1/2
Aberdeenshire Monday 6 1/2 2 1/2
Many thanks to Annette, Jenny, Rhona and Gillian who came along and caddied for some of our girls on Monday.

Sorry that the results were not in the courier today but I was too late home to catch the copy desk. Sorry!!
Again the results were very good with two ladies Joan Merry and Mary Menzies topping the silver and bronze leader board with nett 68!!! Very well done to them. Also I know that Mary West was a little apprehensive playing off her new handicap yesterday. Mary was cut by 5 shots last week, however she need not have worried as she returned a score of 71, well done.

JAMBOREE WEEKEND
The inter-county Team Championships are being hosted by Perth and Kinross at Crieff Golf Club on June 24th, 25th and 26th. Alexandra Bushby has been selected as part of the 8 strong team representing Perth and Kinross and I will be there in my position as Vice Captain. Teams from Angus, Aberdeenshire and Northern Counties will also be there. The format is foursomes in the morning and singles in the afternoon. P&K play against Angus on Saturday, Northern Counties on Sunday and Aberdeenshire on Monday. The winning team go forward to the Scottish finals to be held in September.
As this is the biggest event of the County year and we only host this competition once every 4 years we are looking for as many helpers and supporters to come along as possible.
If you can help by being a caddy or help in the club house then please call me on 01828 633000 or 01828 633395 or email me on IandDinsurance@aol.com and let me know your availability. Or please just come along on the day and support our players over the weekend.
Thanks Dawn
