NORSE CUP RESULTS
Sunday saw a new mixed competition on our calendar. The Norse Cup, which was presented by Norwegian Golfers as a thank you to Strathmore, was played as a mixed event with a slightly different format than usual. Marion Robertson and Iain Butchart our mixed conveners, organised the event and the format was that the pairings were random and that both nett scores were combined. The winners were Dawn Butchart and Lee Bushby both playing under their 5 and 6 handicap, won by 9 clear shots. Well done both.
The full results were as follows:
Dawn Butchart & Lee Bushby 139

ALL GOLFED OUT!!
Alexandra Bushby and Dawn Butchart took part in a sponsored golf day held at Strathmore Golf Club yesterday. The event, which was organised by Alexandra, was to raise monies for the Scottish County Finals which Perth and Kinross qualified for as the Northern Champions. This takes place at the Hirsel in Coldstream from 22nd - 25th September with a practice day on 21st September.
The sponsored day consisted of 54 holes of golf in one day. Along with Alex and Dawn were team member Sally Kettlewell, and County Captain Janet Griffiths. Alexandra, Dawn and Sally set off at 7.15am for their first round, Janet joined them at 12.00pm for the second round and they all played again at 5.45pm eventually crawling off the course around 9.15pm!!
Many thanks to all Strathmore Golf Club Members who donated sponsorship to this event and also to all other sponsors who contributed. We raised around £600.
Many thanks to Strathmore Golf Centre for giving us courtesy of the course and also for their sponsorship. And a huge thank you to Alexandra for organising the event.
