SCRATCH LEAGUE RESULTS
The Scratch League Team who represented Strathmore Golf Club were Team Captain Alexandra Bushby, Dawn Butchart, Sandy Bushby, Sheena Scott, Jane Taylor and Judy Goodfellow.
They all certainly did us proud in our maiden year of scratch league competition, they were among the three top teams of the leader board who had a final tally of 10 match points.
Unfortunately when it comes to teams having the same points it then goes back to games for and finally how many holes won by, where we were pipped by the eventual winners Craigie Hill and second place team Alyth who had more individual games won than us. However to have been to close to winning and being third out of the rest of the County Clubs is a fantastic result.
Congratulation to the all team and lets look forward to next year.

PAST CAPTAINS DAY
The past Captains of Strathmore were all invited to Strathmore to play in the Annual Past Captains Day on Friday. Unfortunately two past captains were unable to attend, Jenny French and Anke. Anke was unable to attend as she has had a fall and hurt her shoulder, we all wish her a speedy recovery.
Past Captains Margaret Young, Dawn Butchart, Sandy Bushby, Wilma Nicoll, Joan Merry and Annette Grewar along with their guest present Captain Jane Taylor got together and had a lovely game followed by a suberb meal. Annette Grewar won the trophy with 37 stableford points. Well done Annette. It was especially nice to see Margaret play her very first full 18 holes.
Unfortunately I inadvertently deleted my photos, so could any other ladies who took some please EMail them to me to enable me to post them on the site.

TWO STRATHMORE MEMBERS RECOGNISED AT NATIONAL LEVEL
Strathmore club Champion Alexandra Bushby has been invited by the SLGA to take part in National B Squad coaching for 2007-2008. This is a fantastic achievement for Alex who has worked extremely hard on her golf over the last two years reducing her handicap from 4 to 1 this year alone. Alex has also represented Perth and Kinross at County level for the last two years and is the current County Champion. She also won the Perth and Kinross Champion of Champions last year.
Junior member Megan Aird has also been invited by the SLGA to take part in the Girls Development squad for 2007-2008. Again this is a fantastic opportunity for Megan who has also worked very hard over the last year. Megan this year was the first girl to reach the Strathmore Junior Championship final, she also represented Perth and Kinross at the inter county championship at Balumbie and was selected by P&K for a scholarship at Gleneagles. Megan certainly took advantage of the scholarship and used the facility as often as possible.
I am delighted for Strathmore but also P&K County who work tirelessly to promote our girls. It is very gratifying to see the efforts rewarded.
Well done girls and take full advantage of all the opportunities that are available.

LADIES VERSUS SENIOR GENTS
Congratulations go to Peter Tinker and his Senior Gents for a very close win on Wednesday! Perhaps if I had got a trophy with a lady on it instead of a man we would have had more luck!
Joking aside, this event really has gone from strength to strenght with more and more members taking part every year which is really what the day is about.....its the taking part that really counts!
Well done Gents and look forward to next years event!
