PING MIXED STABLEFORD AT GLENEAGLES

WELL DONE TO SHEENA AND JACK SCOTT WHO QUALIFIED FOR THE SCOTTISH FINALS OF THE PING MIXED STABLEFORD COMPETITION AT GLENEAGLES

IT WAS PLAYED OVER THE QUEEN'S COURSE WHICH IS VERY SCENIC.  SHEENA AND JACK HAD A  SCORE OF 35 POINTS WHICH WAS VERY ACCEPTABLE.  THE WINNERS HAD 47 POINTS AND PRIZES WERE PRESENTED BY NAGA MUNCHETTY, BBC BREAKFAST PRESENTER, WHO ALSO PLAYED.

GLENEAGLES GOODY BAGS WERE GIVEN TO ALL COMPETITORS AND PING PRESENTED EVERYONE WITH A PING GOLF BAG WHICH WAS GREAT.

HOPEFULLY THIS WILL BE AN ANNUAL EVENT

Gillian also had a HOLE IN 1 at the 13th.
Playing with A Cameron, J McCouig and M Menzies Gillian fired her 3 wood which landed just short of the green and then gently trundled to the bottom of the cup. WELL DONE. (unfortuneately it doesn`t get full recognition as it did not occur in a counting competition).

PAST CAPTAINS TROPHY

Six Past Captains took part in the Past Captains Day yesterday. The winner of the trophy was Jane Douglas with 34 points. Congratulations Jane.

WOODEN SPOON RESULT

OVERALL THE MATCH WAS HALVED - BOTH TEAMS HAD EXACTLY THE SAME NUMBER OF STABLEFORD POINTS SO ONCE AGAIN WE HAD A PUTT OFF!!

THE PUTT OFF WAS ON THE 9TH GREEN BETWEEN SANDRA AND MARK.   I AM NOT SURE IF ANYONE HAS SEEN MARK HOLE A FIVE FOOT PUTT BEFORE BUT HE DID AND SANDRA'S WENT INTO THE HOLE AND CAME OUT AGAIN.   NAIL BITING STUFF.

ONCE AGAIN THE LADIES WON THE WOODEN SPOON BUT NOBODY CAN SAY WE DIDN'T TRY.

BRIAN AND CATHY WENT HOME WITH THE LOOT.  BOTH WON NEAREST THE PIN AT THE 6TH AND 13TH RESPECTIVELY AND BOTH HAD 2S.

GARY WAS THE THIRD PERSON TO HAVE A TWO.

On a lovely golfing day Sheena Scott managed to make her round memorable with a HOLE IN ONE at the 13th (not so unlucky for some!)

Playing with Dawn, Diane and Rosalyn, Sheena played an excellent 7 wood straight into the

LADIES - V - GENTS 17TH SEPTEMBER

THE FORMAT FOR THE LADIES - V - GENTS MATCH WILL BE FOURBALL BETTER BALL STABLEFORD WITH THE GENTS PLAYING FROM THE YELLOW TEES.  GENTS USE THEIR STROKE INDEX AND LADIES USE THEIR STROKE INDEX.    TWO LADIES WILL PLAY AGAINST TWO GENTS.

LAST YEAR THERE WAS A PUTT-OFF BETWEEN SANDRA AND FRED ON THE 18TH GREEN.  FRED EVENTUALLY WON (THERE WAS A BIT OF GAMESMANSHIP FROM THE EDGE OF THE GREEN) - SO THE LADIES WON THE THE WOODEN SPOON ONCE AGAIN.  THIS YEAR WILL BE DIFFERENT!

Notice of  the Strathmore Ladies Section Annual General Meeting 2017

You are hereby given notice of the following:

1.         The 2017 Ladies Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 30^th October 2017 at 6.45 pm prompt.

2.         Members may lodge Notices of Motions for consideration at the Annual General Meeting.  Such notices must be addressed to Val Tait, Ladies Secretary or to Sandra Barber, Ladies Captain, and be delivered to Strathmore Golf Centre by Sunday 8^th October 2017.

3.         I also invite nominations for places on the committee.  Nomination forms, including name, proposer and seconder are available in the ladies changing room.  Completed forms must be addressed as above and also delivered to Strathmore Golf Centre by Sunday 8^th October 2017.

            Motions and nominations will be posted in the clubhouse two weeks prior to the Annual General Meeting.
