Thanks to the hardy souls who turned up to play the post Christmas Texas Scramble. Due to the weather it was touch and go as to whether it went ahead. After a lovely wee mince pie and coffee the rain eased and 12 die hards had a lovely game. It was ladies against the gents and unfortunately the team of Mark, Mark and Fred came out winners! The scores were all very close!
Remember we will be doing it all again on Thursday 2nd !! See you there and hope you have a lovely New Year.

LADIES TURKEY TROT
11TH DECEMBER 2019
On a cold and rainy day 26 hardy ladies took to the course for our annual Turkey Trot. Regardless of the weather conditions there were some very good scores. The golf was followed by a great Christmas Dinner, Carol Singing and Game playing. The whole day was a great success and gave us the opportunity to catch up with friends who have been unable to play with us this year.
Results of the Competition:
Winner Cathy McNab with 26 points
Second Roslyn Hall with 25 points
Third Sandra Barber, Ann Baird and Janet Griffiths all with 23 points.
Many thanks to Katie for baking the Christmas Cake which we all enjoyed with our coffee.
Congratulations to Gillian for guessing the weight of the cake and winning the wine which was kindly donated by Sandra.

RACE TO TURNBERRY
Most of our members may now be aware that we have qualified for the NGCC final at Turnberry on 20th/21st Oct. Qualification was from results of a nominated competition day which we chose as Club Champ qualification day. The top 5 stableford point scores ( we just adjusted the strokeplay scores to stableford points) were forwarded and we have qualified!! Congratulations to Anne Baird, Gwen Doe, Jackie Moran , Rosalyn Hall and Dawn Butchart. Connie MacKenzie did qualify but will be travelling the world therefore the next in line moved up. I also get to tag along as the captain gets invited too! ( there are some perks to this job)! Two rounds of golf and 2 nights dinner B+B at Turnberry sounds good.
It is a nationwide charity event with 6 ladies and 6 gents teams competing for the Lee Westwood trophy.
The aim is to raise money for the charity ,On Course Foundation ,which uses the game of golf as a vehicle for successful recovery for all their members made up of veterans from the British Armed Forces. Worthwhile I am sure. Thank you to the centre for their donation which allowed us entry into the competition.. Good luck to the "girls" I am sure we will all try our very best.

SCRATCH LEAGUE
Last night saw the final Scratch League match of the season, it was against Muckhart at home. Our team was Megan, Amy, Dawn, Kirsten and Sheena. One of the muckhart players thought it was at Muckhart and therefore didn’t make it. My thanks go to Sheena for coming along and having to go home but it was with a win under her belt! We went on to win the match 3-2. Megan and Amy were both up against top players and fought well, Dawn and Kirsten won their matches 5&4 and 6&4 respectively.
Our team ended top of the league along with Pitlochry on 4 points each. This then goes to count back on games won by and unfortunately we were one behind Pitlochry on 8 and them on 9. So close and a great effort by everyone who took part throughout the season.
My thanks go to everyone who has played and supported the team over the last 5 or more years I have been Team Captain and I wish the new Captain great success in 2020.

Nearest the pin on the 17th gents member Tom Wallace.
There was 1 magic 2 recorded by Anne Baird
We also ran a yellow ball competition in conjunction with the bb competition and the winners with 39 points were Gary, Diane, Mike and Louise.
Thanks to everyone who took part and to the centre for giving our guests courtesy of the course.
Next week is the wooden spoon. Gents versus ladies so please get your name down to avoid a years worth of gloating from the fairer sex
