CONGRATULATIONS MEGAN

Warm Congratulations go to Strathmore Junior Member Megan Aird who has been selected for a Perth and Kinross County Golf Scholarship.

The Scholarship entitles Megan to coaching throughout the year at Gleneagles plus full membership to all three courses at the five star resort.

Every year 4 girls are selected by the Perth and Kinross County Golf Junior Selectors, who are Janet Griffiths, Carol Lambie, Lenore Kyle and Dawn Butchart. These girls are selected due to both their enthusiasm and golfing ability which Megan has in abundance.

The Scholarship is a huge achievement for Megan and I am sure she will take full advantage of this wonderful opportunity.

Well done Megan!

SCOTT TROPHY ROUND 8

Saturday saw the final round of the Scott Trophy and on what was an extremely blustery day Alexandra Bushby scored an impressive gross 73. Her round included 6 birdies! Quite amazing considering the conditions. Alexandra was the only player who excelled and therefore, for a change, the CSS was 73! The results were as follows:

Scratch
Alexandra Bushby 73
Dawn Butchart 83

Handicap
Alexandra Bushby (4) 69
Dawn Butchart (5) 78
Sheena Scott (10) 78

The Scott Trophy which was presented by Sheena Scott is played over the season over 8 rounds. The best 4 rounds count for both a Scratch Trophy and Handicap Trophy, the results for the over all winners are as follows:

Scratch
Alexandra Bushby 80+78+77+73 = 308
Dawn Butchart 77+76+75+83 = 311
Sandy bushby 83+81+81+76 = 321
Sheena Scott 83+85+86+87 -= 341

Overall winner - Alexandra Bushby

Handicap
Dawn Butchart 72+70+70+78 = 290
Alexandra Bushby 75+73+73+70 = 290
Sandy Bushby 74+74+74+69 = 291
Megan Aird 77+70+68+78 = 293

Although Alexandra and Dawn had equal scores Alexandra can not win both Scratch and Handicap and as Scratch takes precedence Dawn is the over all winner of the Handicap Section.

Well done to all players and thanks again to Sheena for introducing this event.
