LADIES OPEN

What a glorious day we had for our ladies open yesterday. The weather was fantastic, one of the best days of the year so far. There certainly was no excuse at all as was proved by some very low scores.

The winner of the Silver scratch and the overall winner of the Turner Trophy was Susan Arbuckle (Panmure Barry) with 77.

The winner of 'Best Strathmore Lady Trophy' was Jane Douglas with a magnificent score of nett 65. Jane also won the best Bronze Scratch Score of 86.
Hot on Jane's heels was Joan Merry with a nett 66. Joan went on to win the Silver
Handicap Section. Well done Joan.
Strathmore ladies Wilma Nicoll and Mary Menzies also scored well. Wilma had a nett 70 and won 2nd place in the Bronze handicap section. Mary scored a scratch 94 and won 3rd place in the Bronze scratch section. Lesley Haynes and Dawn Butchart won the Bronze and Silver nearest the pins respectively and Sally Fenner won Bronze longest driver.
Well done.

Well done to everybody and many thanks to all our lady members who came along and helped on the day, without this help we could not have had such a successful day, also Pete Tinker and his senior gents who gave up their morning to help with the starting and parking. Many thanks also go to the Centre Staff who coped extremely well with a very unexpected power cut. Which lasted from 1pm until 6.30pm. Such a pity for the kitchen staff who were then limited to the food they could prepare. Thanks also to the Green Keeping Staff who had the course in beautiful condition for our day.
Our Captain, Jane, put a lot of work and effort into the day and our thanks also go to her for arranging such a sucessful day. (You can now relax for a week or two Jane!)
