Captains' Drive In and Captains versus Vice Captains Match

The day was a great success despite the cold weather. Eighty-seven members took part in the Captain's vs Vice Captains match. Once again the Vice Captains' teams were the winners and claimed Pat's Putter for another year with a stableford total of 723 points compared to 708 for the Captains' team.

COMPETITION INFORMATION

The competition format will be a 4 ball better ball Stableford with 3/4 handicap using the ladies stroke index.

The ladies will receive an additional stroke BEFORE the 3/4 handicap.

Captains' team to wear red and the Vice Captains' to wear blue.

The Captains will make their respective drives at 10.30.

The match will then start at 10.45.

Please arrive early so you can place your flag where you think the drives will land.

Ladies' TriAm Wenesday March 25th

Today the ladies played the TriAm in very windy conditions. It was the first full 18 hole event for a long time and there were a number of shattered ladies in the club house afterwards.

The winning score was 160 which was shared by two teams.

The winning team was Marge, Gillian, and Heather who had the better inward half.

The runners up were Rhoda, Rita and Sandy

Strathmore Ladies Member's Evening

The Strathmore Ladies Member's Evening was a great success and one we won't forget very quickly. We were greeted with a complementary drink provided by the Centre. Our Captain Rhona McGeoghegan welcomed everyone and introduced her committee. We were given updates on handicaps by Marion and competitions by Jennie. Then we all got the opportunity to meet our new golf pro Gareth Cousins.

After that, all the ladies were divided into four teams and they competed in four competitions which consisted of: Skittles, Hula Hooping, Quick Change Clothing and Putting with ellipticle balls!! Fun was had by all and members had a great chance to mix and get to know some of the new members.

Afterwards everyone was treated to a complementary finger buffet.

Well done to everyone who came and took part.

A note for those ladies who do not have handicaps, get those 3 cards in. Remember one of the cards has to be completed with a committee member.

On Wendesday, 18th March there will be a Texas Scramble and on Wednesday, 25th March a Tri-am.

Mail On Sunday Results

Saturday was the first and last round of the Mail On Sunday Team event. The team consisted of Margaret Hunter, Sheena Scott, Jane Taylor, Sandy Bushby and Emily Aird. We all went to Alyth full of hope and enthusiasm, and were given a fine send off by our lady Captain Rhona Mcgeoghegan but we were scunnered by a 4:1 defeat. Most of the matches were close, but the highlight for the Strathmore team was Emily's win at 7and6. Well done Emily! We can only hope that one day we might get a home venue and possibly have a chance at getting our feet under the table. Anyway, thank you to the team for representing Strathmore.
