Ladies Turkey without the trot

Turkey Trot 2010 Christmas Lunch

Well the snow kept us off the golf course but nonetheless the Turkey Trot Christmas meal went off very well. Best Hat was won by Marilyn with a wonderful creation although there were other strong contenders. Judy Goodfellow won the spot prize although she thought she was going to have to sing for it! Elf and "Tigs" the reindeer heralded in Santa and much fun and kissing went on! More photos will be put on the Ladies noticeboard soon. We hope that those in foreign parts and also those who could not make it today have a very good festive season.

Many thanks to our new staff photographer Heather, great photos. Santa was super, and the Elf was once again a star turn. His Tiggy reindeer is always a welcome visitor too.

TURKEY WITHOUT THE TROT.

The 'Turkey' element of our annual event will go ahead as planned. The road to the centre is open and the passing places have been cleared. Due to prior arrangements for Wednesday (like flying off to warmer, snow free climes!) some ladies have had to cancel. If, for whatever reason, you cannot join us please let us know by 11am on Tuesday. This will ensure your refund.

TURKEY TROT ............UPDATE

Due to the rather inclement weather it will be of no surprise to hear of the decision to postpone the TURKEY TROT......it has been decided to re-schedule the event to take place on Wednesday 8th December when all the aarangements will be the same for both GOLF and FOOD etc.

BEAT THE GREEN FEE INCREASE

It was announced at the Club AGM on Friday evening that there will be a small increase in green fee subscriptions next year, amounting to approximately 3%. The increase is due to rising costs and the forthcoming increase in VAT from January 2011. However, as an incentive for early renewal any member who pays their 2011 Strathmore Golf Centre subscription by 31 December 2010 will be able to do so at the 2010 rates.

AGM 2010

A well attended Strathmore Golf Club Annual General Meeting took place on Friday evening. Members also enjoyed a buffet courtesy of Strathmore Golf Centre.

SLGA PRESENTATION

The AGM Meeting on 12 November included a presentation by Dawn Butchart on behalf of the SLGA. This award was given in recognition of the Club and Member 's Support provided during the SLGA Under 16 Girl's Open Strokeplay Championship held at Strathmore Golf Centre in April of this year.

Kay Finlay received the award on behalf of Strathmore Golf Club.

On Saturday we held an End of Season Tri-Am in which 51 Members took part from the Gents , Ladies and Junior Section and a great day was had by all on a lovely Autumnal day.

HOLE IN ONE AT TRI-AM



During the Tri-Am on Saturday, Sheena Scott achieved
a Hole in One at the 4th Hole using a 7 Wood.

The runners up were Rhoda Fraser, Sheila Bailey and Mary Ogilvie, with 70.

Thank you to the ladies who attended our A.G.M. last night. We thanked Rhona, Marion and Jenny for their hard work over the past years and welcomed the new committee members Sandra Barber, Sheena Scott and Heather Dawson. An excellent meal was then enjoyed by us all.

THE FAMOUS GROUSE RETURNS TO SCOTLAND.

SCOTLAND V NORWAY

Today, Strathmore welcomed the Norwegian team to Scotland. Some sixty players took part in the bi-annual challenge match with Scotland winning convincingly. The overall winner was Rhoda Fraser with 40 points.
A wonderful day was had by all. The weather could have been warmer but the rain stayed away thankfully. After a delicious meal, we were entertained to a real Scottish evening.

Rhona and Eric, suitably dressed for the occasion, await the arrival of the Norwegian Team.

It was with great delight that Eric and Rhona accepted the trophy from John Swinney.

Some very talented youngsters from Alyth entertained us with their expert highland dancing.

Alyth Pipe Band played some rousing tunes with Rhona encouraging everyone to join in the dancing.
