'THE RABBIE BURNS CLASSIC'

With 52 players taking part in 'The Rabbie Burns Classic' it truly was a 'classic'! A mixed Texas Scramble was the format with a very tricky (well I thought so!) questions at every Tee relating to Rabbie! On completion of our round we had another sheet of questions to answer over a well deserved drink!

A full house some deep in thought!

The haggis was then paraded around the participants by our Chef Lindsay, whilst David Conran-Smith lamented it on the Bag Pipes. The Selkirk Grace was duly performed by Alan Christie.

FIRST ACE OF THE SEASON!

I was very honoured to be in the fourball that witnessed the very first hole in one, at Strathmore, of 2007 and how very appropriate that the person who performed this feat was none other than our very own President, Peter Tinker.
Peter holed a Pitching Wedge shot on the 6th. It was truly a joy to watch, only one little hop and straight into the hole. Wonderful!
Also included in the group was Sheena Scott and Sandy Robertson.

Well Done Peter!

FANTASTIC SUPPORT FOR MIXED COMPETITIONS.

The holiday period saw three mixed events taking place at Strathmore. Each event was well supported with as many as 36 members taking part. Boxing Day saw a Texas Scramble and the winning team was Mark Scott, Ian Taylor, Stephen Schofield and Sally Fenner. On Saturday 30th a mixed Tri-am was held and the winning team was Frank Moran, Eric Gray and Mark Truswell. Yesterday was the day of our annual 'Sair Heed Bash' which was once again a Texas Scramble. The winning team was Chris Sturgis, Dawn Butchart, Graham Bullock and Ken Sutherland. Our President Peter Tinker presented the prizes.
After each event most members stayed and enjoyed a great meal provided by our chef Lindsay. These events are extremely popular and our thanks as always go to our Mixed conveners Iain Butchart and Marion Robertson for their time and efforts.
Marion and Iain are hoping to arrange further events over the winter so please keep a close eye to the mixed board!
