This Stableford Competition takes place on Wednesday 11th August with a two- tee start time of 10.00am. A nine-hole competition is also available for those who wish - you may just have a wee wait for your meal! Please book in the normal way for both of the competitions.
The menu will go on the ladies noticeboard on Saturday, if you could please indicate your choice by Monday 9th August.

The Tom Finlay Texas Scramble, involving the senior gents and the ladies sections, was played this morning in beautiful sunshine. Nine teams of four took part in a closely contested event.
Winners were: Sandy McGibbon, Jeremy Wood, Brian Forrest and Margaret Young with a fantastic score of 54.36, each receiving two bottles of wine.
Prizes were very kindly donated by Kay Finlay’s family in memory of Kay and her father Tom. Kay would have been delighted to see such a great turnout for this event and for the spirit it was played in. Great fun was had by all. Many thanks to all who took part and donated to the Captains Charities.
16 ladies from Strathmore took part in the Senior Ladies Pairs Greensomes at Edzell yesterday, kindly organised for us by Sally. We followed all her instructions and am delighted to report that Strathmore ladies were featuring in the prize list:

We didn't make it last year but Katie has booked our annual trip to the Himalayas, St Andrews for Tues 14th September in the morning followed by lunch afterwards in the Links Clubhouse. Booking online will appear about 6 weeks before the date so look out for it!

On a mostly good day, Twelve couples competed for the Ping Foursomes, the format set by Ping is very challenging, especially with the Gents playing off the Medal Tees.
In joint second place Fred & Sandra/Ian & Dawn 35 points, Ian & Dawn (BIH).
Winners with 38 points Gavin Greig & Linda Ross, there names will go forward to Ping with a chance of playing in the Finals on the 17th September.

29 ladies enjoyed the New Course at Piperdam this afternoon, with only a light shower early on which did not seem to dampen anyone's spirits. 3 ladies played the 9 hole course too. Some great scoring was recorded:

Morning Ladies - lets hope for a sunny one like this next week. Please find below the draw for our Away Day next week. We have put everyone out in 4 balls as we have record numbers for the day, 32 for the main course and the 3 for the 9 hole course!
A few housekeeping details:
Coffee and bacon rolls from 11.00am and we will choose our menu for the meal before we go out for golf. Meal is booked for 5pm.
Katie has found out that there are no toilets on the course but 7th and 13th greens are nearest to the clubhouse in case of emergencies!
And finally we will be using our Course Handicaps next week as this is a non counting competition so please make sure that you have your Handicap Index with you and you can check your Course Handicap for the day on the chart at the Golf Club. As always help available if you are not sure what to do!
