 President's Day 2024 

Our President Sally was unfortunately unable to be here today.  We all wish her well for any future treatment and recovery as she is desperately frustrated not to be out golfing and seeing her Strathmore GC family. 

We had a shotgun start at 9am and were blessed with sunny spells yet a bit of a chilly wind at times too. It was jumper on, jumper off, jumper on again kind of weather!  We had a field of 80 players with juniors integrating brilliantly into the draw and competing for all the spot prizes! 

Huge thank yous must go first to Sally for putting up all the prizes, a very generous contribution to the competition; Mike and Gavin who organised all the cards as they came in; Iain Butchart who organised the junior cards; Cathy and Sandra for placing all the spot prizes notices and spikes; the Greenkeeping team for such a well-kept course, some of whom were also playing and of course the Centre staff team who produced the most amazing hot and cold buffet spread.  

The trophy winners and the spot prizes winners are pictured below.  Well done to all those who played, and for most of us, better luck next time.

Farewell to Scott

 Today we managed to capture Scott to wish him well as he leaves Strathmore to take up his new post at Edzell. He was presented with a voucher and a bowl (courtesy of Tom Wallace) on behalf of the club.

Results of the Jack Scott Trophy.

 With a delayed start due to heavy rain, 14 couples out of 20 decided to compete for the Jack Scott Trophy, within the first few holes the rain stopped and we enjoyed a nice afternoons golf in good weather.

Nearest the pin Ladies was Susan Ogg.

Nearest the pin Gents was Sandy Ogg.

With the fairways and Greens now softer, there were some very good scores.

In second place with 44 points was Jane Millar and Gavin Greig.

The winners of the Jack Scott Trophy was Diane and Gary McLuskey with 45 points.
