The Ladies Open was played today in showery weather - thankfully, not the heavy rain as forecast. Competitors came from a wide area - results will follow soon.
Once again, Blackadders kindly sponsored this event with every player receiving a lovely reusable hot/cold drinks bottle. Spot prizes, Magic two prizes and main prizes were also donated by Blackadders and we are grateful to Jane Millar for arranging this for us and for bringing along the ladies to help too.
Special mention must be made to Sheena Scott for her excellent organisation of the Ladies Open. Ann Cameron had a very early start to update handicaps ready for the day. Both Sheena and Ann put in a lot of hard work prior to the event to allow the day to run so smoothly. Thank you ladies!
Grateful thanks to the gents who gave up their day to help out with car parking, starting and scoring duties. Eric, Fred, Mike and Norman - your support is greatly appreciated by the Ladies Section.
Many ladies put in long shifts to help out in so many ways. These events cannot run without all the your support. The amount of donations received for raffle prizes was amazing. Thank you to everyone who gave so generously in prizes and of time.
Finally, thank you to David and all the centre staff for supporting us before and during the event. Nothing was too much trouble and all done with a smile! Scott and the greenkeeping team had the course in excellent condition, with many compliments being received on the day from the competitors.
