Yesterday morning the first fairway was littered with flags; the members trying to guess where the Captains would drive to. The flags were sold by some of our lady members (thank you ladies) with the money raised going to the Captains' charities. Gents' Captain Mike Stiell welcomed everyone at the 1st tee before he and Jane Millar hit their tee shots in front of the crowds! The Captains (in red) played against the Vice Captains (Gavin Greig and Judy Goodfellow in blue).

There were prizes for the flags nearest to the Captains' drives - well done to Lorraine Norman and Catherine Parrot, then 12 spot prizes around the course. Well done to all the individual prize-winners and a big thank you to Conan Reid, our Junior Captain, who presented the prizes with Mike. The final scores of Stableford points were tallied up and Congratulations go to the Captains' team who won with a considerable margin this year!!
Mike and the Gents Sections took this opportunity to thank Sheena Scott for all the work she has done over the last 15 or more years as Club Treasurer. She has retired from this position with Lesley Redden taking over the role. He presented Sheena with a beautiful orchid and a voucher. He also wished her well with her golf season stating that she should surely win the club championship this year with her new found freedom to play more relaxed golf!
