This afternoon, the family of Sally Fenner and a gathering of ladies and gents from the Club remembered Sally together. We gathered at the 6th Tee for the family to scatter her ashes on her beloved golf course and for the Ladies Section to plant a cherry tree in her memory. Judy spoke on behalf of the Ladies Section then Dick Fenner, Sally's brother, said a few words before her ashes were laid and buried in the soil around the new tree. Photos were taken and the family were delighted to have been able to lay Sally to rest here. As Storm Amy had destroyed a number of trees around the golf course and surrounding roads in the area, people were wrapped up and determined to remember Sally, who was always undeterred by the weather on the golf course.
Thank you to all who attended.
Thank you very much to the Peter & Greenkeepers for providing the new bench and organising the part-planting of the tree yesterday despite the weather.
